Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, visited Tehran and met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other top Iranian officials and diplomats.
The Special Envoy brought up a number of urgent concerns during the meetings, including regional dynamics that might jeopardize mediation efforts. In addition, he discussed recent intensifications in the Red Sea, pointing out that wider security risks can further destabilize the area.
The UN Envoy underlined the importance of starting productive talks again and that dialogue is the only long-term solution for bringing about peace and stability in Yemen.
