A Liberian-flagged tanker, the Cordelia Moon, was the victim of a successful drone attack by Houthi rebels last week. The incident occurred approximately 70 nautical miles offshore of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

Houthi footage captured the moment an unmanned surface vessel (USV) laden with explosives struck the side of the tanker, causing a powerful explosion. Despite attempts by the tanker's security personnel to repel the attack with automatic weapons, the USV managed to reach its target.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria claimed that the tanker was also hit by several rockets. While no injuries were reported, the attack resulted in damage to one of the Cordelia Moon's ballast tanks.

In addition to the Cordelia Moon, a second ship, believed to be the bulk carrier Minoan Courage, was reportedly struck by a Houthi missile. However, the damage was minimal, and there were no injuries. A third vessel in the area reported seeing four splashes in the water nearby but was unharmed.

The incident highlights the ongoing threat posed by Houthi attacks on maritime traffic in the region.
