According to the Wall Street Journal, Russia supported Houthi rebels in Yemen in their efforts to target ships in the Red Sea.
The data used to target ships with missiles and drones was obtained earlier this year from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stationed in Yemen.
The Iran-backed Houthis began attacking commercial vessels in the Red Sea immediately after the Palestinian Resistance launched Operation Flood Al-Aqsa against Israel. The Houthis claimed that their attacks were in support of Palestine, which is undergoing a genocide by the Israeli occupation.
The Journal’s report comes after a summit of the nine BRICS countries, which included Russia, China, India, and Iran, when Russian President Vladimir Putin warned leaders that the Middle East was on the verge of war, ahead of Israel's expected response to Iran's ballistic missile launch.
