The Netherland’s Foreign Minister, Caspar Veldkamp, has expressed his relief at the release of his country’s Embassy in Yemen staff Akram Al-Akhali, after being arbitrarily detained by the Houthi rebels for ten months in Sana'a. He expressed his gratefulness to Oman for its vital role in Al-Akhali’s release.
The Houthis,have arrested Al-Akhali, the senior international development policy officer at the Dutch Embassy, on Thursday, July 4th, 2024 and refused to disclose the reasons for the arrest, reveal his location, or allow him to communicate with his family.
