In its recent funding update the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) reported that it's financial requirements for 2025 in Yemen was estimated at $305.0 million, but as of 30 April 2025 ONLY 35,901,405 was secured.

This funding update includes an indicative allocation of funds so as to accurately represent the resources available for the country.

The agency mentioned that funds were offered from several countries, private donors in the area and United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction plus other private donors.

UNHCR noticed that contributions without restrictions on its use allows the agency critical flexibility in how best to reach refugees and other populations of concern who are in the greatest need and at the greatest risk, while flexible funding is allocated and reallocated multiple times during the year to allow UNHCR to fund prioritized activities.

UNHCR update concluded that the percentage of funds (12%) compared with total funding amount required $305.0 million , leaves an indicative funding gap of $269,098,595 representing 88% of the financial requirements.
