Deputy leader of the People’s General Conference (PGC) Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh called upon all political and social forces in Yemen to open a new chapter based on tolerance, and genuine national partnership against the Houthi rebels militia that seeks to drag the country back to the dark ages.

Ahmed Ali, in a speech commemorating the 8th anniversary of what he called "the December 2nd Revolution (Uprising against the Houthi rebels)” added “ It is our responsibility to unite, to bury our differences, and to place the interest of Yemen above all else. There can be no victory without unity, no state without cohesion, and no future without a comprehensive national front that unites all Yemenis in a single trench against a militia -The Houthis-  that seeks to drag the country back to the dark ages".

He added that “the December 2nd Revolution was not a fleeting event, but a message for generations to come—a message that when the will of the Yemeni people is united, no force can break them. And when the nation calls, men rise, spirits awaken, and difficult moments transform into the beginning of a new path.

Ahmed Ali said that Yemen “faces a militia that believes neither in coexistence, nor in democracy, nor in human rights—a militia that has turned Yemen into a vast prison. Within its walls, they practice repression, intimidation, kidnappings, and confiscation of property, plunging people's lives into darkness, suppressing every free voice and every dissenting opinion, and targeting leaders and members of the General People's Congress, as well as all the people of Yemen without exception.
